Chinese Botnet 'Raptor Train' Compromises Over 260,000 IoT Devices, Five Eyes Warn
Sep 18, 2024, 05:01 PM
A new botnet named 'Raptor Train,' linked to Chinese nation-state actor Flax Typhoon, has compromised over 260,000 IoT devices worldwide. The botnet, which includes SOHO routers and IP cameras, has been active for four years. The U.S. and UK have claimed that a Chinese company, Integrity Technology Group, is behind the infection of hundreds of thousands of IoT devices to further state-sponsored hacking. The NSA, along with its Five Eyes allies, has issued a joint advisory warning about PRC-linked actors using IoT devices for botnet operations.
