21 Pro-Palestinian Protesters Arrested After Disrupting Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
Nov 28, 2024, 06:00 PM
Pro-Palestinian protesters briefly disrupted the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday for the second consecutive year. The demonstrators, some wearing masks and holding anti-genocide posters, jumped barriers and blocked the parade route near West 55th Street and Sixth Avenue just ahead of the Ronald McDonald float, chanting "Free Palestine!" The New York Police Department quickly intervened, arresting at least 21 protesters and removing them from the street. This occurred despite the mayor's announcement of a 'no tolerance' policy for disruptions. Despite the brief interruption and rainy weather, the parade continued with minimal delay, showcasing its iconic floats and performances.
