Trump Accuses 'Far-Left' UK Labour of Illegal Aid to Harris in FEC Complaint
Oct 23, 2024, 06:11 AM
Donald Trump's presidential campaign has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) accusing the UK's 'far-left' Labour Party and the Harris-Walz campaign of engaging in 'illegal foreign campaign contributions and interference' in the upcoming US presidential election scheduled for November 5. The complaint, titled 'The British are Coming!', alleges that around 100 Labour Party members have traveled to the United States to volunteer for Kamala Harris's campaign in key battleground states such as North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. The Trump campaign claims this constitutes 'blatant foreign interference' and alleges that the Labour Party has inspired 'Kamala’s dangerously liberal policies and rhetoric.' UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has dismissed the allegations, insisting that volunteering is standard practice as long as volunteers are unpaid and emphasizing that no laws have been broken. He stated that his relationship with Trump remains unaffected despite the complaint. Labour Party officials noted that their members have participated in US elections in the past without issue and that their activities are permitted under US law. The controversy adds to the tensions between the Trump and Harris campaigns as the election approaches.
