50-Year-Old Salt Lake City Fire Captain Michael Harp Dies in Colorado Rafting Accident

The body of a 50-year-old man from Sandy, Utah, identified as Salt Lake City Fire Captain Michael Harp, was recovered from the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument, Colorado, after a rafting accident. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Harp was reportedly pinned under a raft at the Canyon of Lodore. Guides from a private rafting company, Adrift, found his body 10 miles down the river from the rapid. The body was airlifted and taken to the Moffat County coroner. Park rangers recovered the body on Friday. The Salt Lake City Fire Department announced his unexpected death on Saturday.
