North Carolina Unanimously Approves Emergency Election Rules for Hurricane Helene-Affected Voters

North Carolina has adjusted its election rules to assist voters impacted by Hurricane Helene ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election. The North Carolina State Board of Elections unanimously passed a resolution to loosen voting rules for residents in 13 counties in the western part of the state that were most affected by the hurricane. These changes include modifying in-person early voting locations and Election Day precinct voting locations. The elections board unanimously approved emergency measures to address the crisis.
