Nine Entertainment CEO Mike Sneesby Announces Independent Review Amid Darren Wick Misconduct Allegations
May 27, 2024, 05:54 AM
Nine Entertainment has announced an independent review into allegations of misconduct by former news boss Darren Wick. CEO Mike Sneesby revealed the decision during an all-staff meeting, stating that the review will examine 'behaviours and concentration of power that has damaged the trust and fairness within our television newsrooms.' The announcement follows allegations from more than a dozen former and current Nine TV journalists, some of whom have signed non-disclosure agreements. An external investigator will be brought in to ensure a safe working environment moving forward. The scandal has also led to concerns among employees, including Sydney newsreader Peter Overton, about their future at the company.
