Germany, UK Detain Suspects Including Jian G. in Chinese Espionage Crackdown
Apr 23, 2024, 07:30 AM
Germany and Britain have intensified their crackdown on Chinese espionage activities within Europe. German authorities have arrested several individuals, including a married couple running a business in Dusseldorf and Jian G., an assistant to Alternative for Germany (AfD) politician Maximilian Krah, who works in the EU Parliament. The Germans also arrested two spy-terrorists working for Russia last week. The arrests extend to the UK, where a researcher for a UK lawmaker was among five alleged Chinese spies detained. These actions reflect growing concerns over Chinese espionage efforts across Europe.
