The attack, which occurred overnight, targeted the 'Kristall' oil storage facility associated with the Engels-2 Air Base, a key hub for Russian long-range bombers, including Tu-95 bombers. The regional governor, Roman Busargin, confirmed the drone attack, noting that debris from a downed UAV caused a fire at an industrial facility. Reports indicate that the fuel depot, which supplies fuel to the Engels airbase, was hit, resulting in a massive fire. The attack involved three Ukrainian One-Way Attack UAVs (OWA-UAVs), and local reports mentioned around three dozen explosions in the vicinity.
