Ukraine Targets Druzhba Pipeline and Taganrog Aircraft Plant with Palianytsia Missiles; 14 Vehicles Burned
Dec 11, 2024, 10:38 AM
Ukrainian forces have carried out drone and missile strikes on key infrastructure targets within Russia, including oil depots and industrial facilities in the Bryansk and Rostov regions. In Bryansk, a significant fire erupted at an oil depot that serves as a critical hub for the Druzhba oil pipeline—a major route for Russian and Kazakh oil exports to Europe. Despite the attack, Kazakh authorities stated that the pipeline remains unscathed, and Ukrainian sources indicated there was no impact on oil transit to Europe. The oil depot is reportedly used by the Russian military for fuel distribution, receiving, storing, and loading diesel onto tanker trucks and rail. In the Rostov region, a thermal power plant and the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific Technical Complex—an aircraft production facility where A-50 AWACS aircraft are manufactured—were attacked. Officials reported that 14 vehicles were burned in Taganrog, and local residents complained that shelters were locked during the attack. Some of the strikes were carried out using Ukrainian-made Palianytsia hybrid drone-cruise missiles. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the fuel distribution station at the Druzhba pipeline. These attacks mark a strategic effort by Ukraine to target Russian supply lines and military infrastructure.
