CVC Capital Partners, a London-based private equity firm, has successfully launched its initial public offering (IPO) in Amsterdam, raising €2 billion. The IPO, which began trading on Friday, was priced at 14 euros per share, the middle of the initially proposed range, valuing the company at up to $16 billion. Donald Mackenzie, co-founder of CVC and the second-largest shareholder with a 7% stake, is set to net up to €150 million from the IPO. The IPO size was increased by €500 million due to strong investor interest, and shares debuted above the offer price. The co-founders of CVC have a combined fortune of €2.6 billion as shown in the IPO prospectus.
