Biden Grants Clemency to BMF Co-Founder Terry Flenory in Largest Single-Day Action
Dec 20, 2024, 06:47 PM
President Joe Biden has granted clemency to Terry 'Southwest T' Flenory, co-founder of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), as part of a broader initiative to commute the sentences of approximately 1,500 individuals who were released from prison and placed on home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic. Flenory, who was serving a 30-year sentence for drug trafficking and related charges, was released to home confinement in May 2020 due to health risks posed by the virus. Biden's action marks the largest single-day clemency action in modern U.S. history, surpassing previous records. Additionally, Biden granted full pardons to 39 people convicted of nonviolent offenses. Flenory celebrated his pardon by sharing an affidavit signed by Biden on social media, and he also removed his ankle monitor following the commutation.
