Sanders Criticizes Democrats for Losing Working-Class, Including Latino and Black, Support After Trump's Win
Nov 6, 2024, 09:27 PM
Following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election and as Kamala Harris prepared to give her concession speech, Senator Bernie Sanders issued a scathing statement criticizing the Democratic Party for abandoning working-class people. Sanders said, 'It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well.' He questioned whether 'the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party will allow the Party to go forward in a very different direction,' emphasizing that while Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
