Giants' Rookie Jung Hoo Lee to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery for Torn Labrum
May 17, 2024, 10:31 PM
San Francisco Giants rookie outfielder Jung Hoo Lee will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Lee sustained the injury after crashing into the center-field wall during a game against the Cincinnati Reds on May 13. An MRI revealed structural damage, and he will seek a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Lee, who signed a six-year, $113 million deal in the offseason, will not return for the 2024 season. The Giants have placed him on the 10-day injured list and recalled catcher Jakson Reetz from AAA Sacramento. Lee is the third outfielder the Giants have lost to injury in a 10-day span.
