Trump and Co-Defendants Seek to Block Release of Jack Smith's Final Report on Classified Documents and Election Interference

Trump's lawyers have reviewed a draft of the report over the weekend and argue that its release would be unlawful and politically motivated. They have urged Attorney General Merrick Garland to remove Smith and defer the decision on the report's release to Trump's incoming administration. Meanwhile, Nauta and De Oliveira's lawyers have filed an emergency motion with Judge Aileen Cannon, who previously dismissed the classified documents case citing Smith's unconstitutional appointment, to prevent the report's release.
