Irvine Police Unveil $150,000 Tesla Cybertruck for DARE Use in U.S.

The Irvine, California Police Department has unveiled the first-ever in-duty Tesla Cybertruck for police use in the United States. This $150,000 vehicle, referred to as the 'Cyberbeast,' will be part of the department's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) unit. The turnkey Cybertruck, produced by Upfit Tesla's police division and utilizing Whelen Engineering components, is equipped with various aftermarket upgrades. It is intended to respond to emergencies, assist the community, and start conversations about innovative policing. The department aims for the Cybertruck to be driven primarily by DARE officers to schools. OC Cops are among the first to receive this upgrade.
