Czech President Approves 60 Citizens to Join Ukrainian Armed Forces; 906,000 Ukrainians Exempted from Mobilization
Nov 2, 2024, 01:43 PM
The Czech Republic's President Petr Pavel has authorized 60 citizens to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as confirmed by his spokesperson Filip Platosh. This decision comes in light of over 180 applications from Czechs wishing to serve in Ukraine's military. Under Czech law, citizens are prohibited from joining foreign military forces without presidential approval. The applications are first reviewed by three ministries before reaching the president's desk. In Ukraine, Minister of Economy Sviridenko reported that 906,000 Ukrainians have been exempted from mobilization.
