China has emerged as the world's second-largest holder of lithium reserves, with its share of global lithium reserves increasing from 6% to 16.5%. This development follows significant advancements in lithium exploration, as reported by the China Geological Survey under the Ministry of Natural Resources. The country has moved up from the sixth position to the second, reshaping the global lithium resource landscape. Concurrently, reports indicate that Russia has captured the largest lithium deposit in Ukraine, located in the village of Shevchenko, west of Kurakhovo, according to Ukrainian deep state mappers. Additionally, Zijin Mining Group, a Chinese company, plans to begin lithium production in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the first quarter of 2026.
