The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the death of Mohammed Deif, the commander of Hamas' military wing, in a July 13 airstrike in the Khan Younis area of Gaza. Deif, who was considered one of the masterminds behind the October 7 attacks on Israel, was targeted in a precise, coordinated strike conducted in collaboration with the Shin Bet security agency. The confirmation came after the IDF obtained strong intelligence in recent hours. The airstrike also resulted in the death of Rafa’a Salameh, the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade.
