Trump Pays Tribute to Firefighter Corey Comperatore Killed in Assassination Attempt at Butler, PA Rally

Former President Donald Trump paid tribute to Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old former fire chief, at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Comperatore was killed while shielding his family during an assassination attempt on Trump at a previous rally on July 13, 2024. In honor of Comperatore, Trump reserved a seat and placed his firefighter coat and helmet behind the stage. Trump also met and hugged Comperatore's family members, and the crowd chanted 'COREY! COREY! COREY!' during the tribute. A painting of Comperatore was displayed on the stage, and a minute of silence was observed in his memory. The Mayor of Slippery Rock delivered a tribute message highlighting Comperatore's bravery.
