Microsoft Unveils Copilot+ PCs with Advanced AI Capabilities on Windows 11
May 20, 2024, 06:05 PM
Microsoft has unveiled a new category of PCs called Copilot+ PCs, which are designed to integrate advanced AI capabilities directly into the hardware. These PCs are powered by the latest silicon, including Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus chips, and are capable of performing 40+ trillion operations per second (TOPS). The Copilot+ PCs feature AI models such as GPT-4.0, enabling functionalities like real-time co-creation, data recall, and live captions for audio translation. The new devices include the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, with partners such as Dell, Qualcomm, Intel, AMD, Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung contributing to the hardware. The Copilot+ PCs promise significant performance improvements, including being 58% faster than the MacBook Air M3, and offer all-day battery life. Built on Windows 11, these advancements mark a significant shift in the Windows ecosystem, emphasizing the integration of distributed AI to enhance user experiences. The announcement was made at Microsoft's Redmond campus.
