Israeli Authorities Uncover Iranian Espionage Network with $100,000 Assassination Plot
Oct 16, 2024, 06:12 AM
Israeli authorities have uncovered an Iranian espionage network involving Israeli citizens recruited to carry out assassinations in exchange for money. Shin Bet has arrested an Israeli citizen who was allegedly recruited by Iran to assassinate an Israeli scientist for $100,000. The network included a 30-year-old man from Ramat Gan, Vladislav Viktorzon, who was accused of setting cars on fire and being instructed to recruit homeless individuals. An Israeli couple, one from Ukraine and one from Belarus, were also implicated in the plot to eliminate a senior Israeli figure. Channel 14 reported that the Shin Bet identified two Israelis living in Ramat Gan who expressed willingness to carry out the assassination. This marks the fourth case of espionage in Israel within two weeks.
