Israel Strikes Syria with 480 Airstrikes, Destroying 80% of Military Assets to Prevent Terrorist Access
Dec 11, 2024, 03:11 PM
Israel has conducted a significant military campaign in Syria, targeting and destroying the majority of the country's strategic weapons stockpiles and military assets. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched 480 airstrikes over a 48-hour period, focusing on preventing these weapons from falling into the hands of terrorist groups following the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad. The campaign included naval operations where Israeli Navy missile ships attacked Syrian Navy facilities in Latakia and al-Bayda, destroying 15 naval vessels. The strikes have decimated 80% of Syria's military capacity, including its air defense systems, chemical weapons infrastructure, and arms-production facilities. Israel's actions are seen as an effort to secure its borders and prevent the use of these weapons against it by extremist elements.
