Conor McGregor Sued by Jane Doe Over Alleged Sexual Assault at Kaseya Center During 2023 NBA Finals
Jan 15, 2025, 08:40 PM
Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion, is facing a new lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, over allegations of sexual assault that reportedly occurred at the Kaseya Center during Game 4 of the NBA Finals in June 2023. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, a 49-year-old woman and a senior vice president at a high-profile Wall Street financial institution from Miami-Dade County, alleges that McGregor assaulted her in a bathroom after the game. The lawsuit also names the Miami Heat and the Kaseya Center as defendants, claiming negligence in overserving McGregor alcohol and failing to provide adequate security, especially after McGregor's incident with the Heat mascot, Burnie. McGregor's attorney, Barbara Llanes, has stated confidence that the lawsuit will be dismissed, citing a previous investigation by the State's Attorney that concluded there was no case to pursue, and no criminal charges were filed. The woman is seeking compensation for past and future medical treatment, compensatory damages, and other relief. This lawsuit follows a separate civil case in Ireland where McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in 2018.
