Jul 25, 2024, 07:19 AM
Russian Shahed-136/Geran-2 attack drones struck the Ukrainian port of Izmail on the Danube river, near the border with Romania, on the night of July 24. Reports indicate that at least one drone exploded on the Romanian side of the border. According to Kyiv Post sources, three UAVs fell on Romanian territory, causing fires near Niculițel, 7 km from the Ukrainian border. Romanian authorities confirmed finding drone fragments near the town of Plauru, across the Danube River from Izmail. The incident prompted Romania to scramble F-16 jet fighters. The drones reportedly flew 12 kilometers into Romanian territory, which is a member of NATO. The attacks occurred over two consecutive days, involving four drones.
