Arbitrum's $ZRO Airdrop Boosts Transactions Amid Controversy, Revenue Hits $3.4M
Jun 21, 2024, 06:20 AM
The recent launch of the $ZRO token airdrop on the Arbitrum network has generated significant activity and controversy. The airdrop, which began on Thursday, requires users to donate approximately 3% of their tokens to the Protocol Guild, a mechanism known as Proof of Donation. This requirement has led to a divided response within the community. Despite the controversy, Arbitrum's transaction volume surged, reaching 140 transactions per second (TPS) with over 165,000 claims in just 2.5 hours. The daily transaction revenue on Arbitrum also hit an all-time high, exceeding $3.4 million. However, $ZRO's value has dropped by 17% since its launch. Bryan Pellegrino defends the decision.
