Embracer Splits into Three Game Segments; Shares Jump 18%
Apr 22, 2024, 05:30 AM
Embracer Group, a Swedish game developer, has announced plans to restructure by splitting into three separate publicly traded companies, each focusing on different segments of the gaming and entertainment industry. The three new entities will be Asmodee Group, specializing in board and card games; Coffee Stain & Friends, focusing on indie, AA, and free-to-play games; and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends, which will handle AAA games and owns Dark Horse and Plaion Pictures. This strategic move comes alongside new financing for the group and has resulted in a significant increase in Embracer's share value, with gains of up to 18% following the announcement.
