Mistral AI Launches Codestral-22B: 80+ Languages, 32K Context, Outperforms Larger Models

Mistral AI has launched its first-ever code model, Codestral-22B. This state-of-the-art generative AI model is designed for code generation and supports over 80 programming languages. Codestral-22B outperforms previous models, including larger ones, in various benchmarks such as RepoBench and HumanEval. The model is available on Mistral's API platform and can be tried for free on Le Chat. It also integrates with VS Code and offers a 32K context length. Codestral-22B is an open-weight model and is available via La Plateforme. Additionally, Mistral AI has introduced a new Mistral AI Non-Production License (MNPL), allowing developers to use the technology for non-commercial purposes and research, while ensuring businesses can build successful ventures. The model notably outperforms Llama 3 70B in code benchmarks.
