Israel Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen, Killing Nine, After Missile Damages School
Dec 19, 2024, 07:57 AM
Israeli airstrikes hit Yemen's rebel-held capital Sanaa and the port cities of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and As-Salif early on Thursday, targeting military positions held by the Houthi forces. The operation, approved by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, involved dozens of fighter jets. The strikes came after a Houthi missile launched from Yemen was intercepted over central Israel, causing damage to a school. According to Houthi-controlled media, at least nine people were killed in the Israeli attacks. The Israeli Defense Forces stated that they conducted 'precise strikes on Houthi military targets in Yemen,' including ports and energy infrastructure used to support Houthi military actions.
