Security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region have killed up to 36 Maoist insurgents in the largest operation to date. The clash occurred this afternoon in the Abhujmaad forest area along the Narayanpur-Dantewada border and began around 1 PM. Initial reports indicated seven deaths, which later rose as the operation progressed. The joint operation was carried out by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF). A significant cache of weapons, including automatic rifles such as AK-47s and self-loading rifles (SLRs), was recovered from the site.
