Scottish Comedian Janey Godley Dies at 63 After Cancer Battle
Nov 2, 2024, 09:44 AM
Scottish comedian Janey Godley has died peacefully in her sleep in hospice care at the age of 63 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She passed away on the morning of November 2, surrounded by her loved ones, her management confirmed. Known for her voice-over videos of Scotland's former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon during the pandemic, Godley faced her terminal diagnosis with impressive fortitude. Her daughter, fellow comedian Ashley Storrie, had recently shared that her mother was in the "final beats of her life." Godley had recently been given an honorary doctorate in her hospice bed. Her family expressed gratitude for the love and support from friends and fans during her cancer journey, which brought her enormous joy and comfort.
