Chargers' Jim Harbaugh Leaves Game Due to Atrial Flutter, Returns to Sideline
Oct 13, 2024, 08:27 PM
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh experienced a health scare during the team's Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos. Harbaugh left the sideline early in the first quarter and went into the blue medical tent before heading to the locker room. The team announced that Harbaugh was dealing with an illness and was questionable to return, with defensive coordinator Jesse Minter stepping in as interim head coach. Harbaugh later revealed that he had experienced an episode of atrial flutter, a type of arrhythmia. After receiving an IV, a magnesium pill, and an EKG, Harbaugh returned to the sideline and continued to coach the game. This incident marks his third such episode since 1999.
