NHL All-Star rosters announcement
Florida Panthers Sign Carter Verhaeghe to Eight-Year, $56 Million Extension Through 2032-33
Oct 9, 2024, 03:00 AM
The Florida Panthers have signed forward Carter Verhaeghe to an eight-year contract extension, as announced by General Manager Bill Zito. The contract, valued at $56 million, includes $48 million in signing bonuses, with a base salary of $1 million per season. This extension will keep Verhaeghe with the Panthers through the 2032-33 season. Verhaeghe becomes the seventh NHL player signed through that season. The deal underscores the Panthers' commitment to maintaining a strong core, with other key players like Sam Reinhart, Gustav Forsling, Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen, and Evan Rodrigues also under long-term contracts. Team owner Vincent Viola expressed his support, stating, 'Carter, please make sure you know you will remain always a Florida Panther.' The newly-married Verhaeghe is thrilled to set his family’s roots in South Florida.
