President Joe Biden announced that individuals impacted by the California wildfires will receive a one-time payment of $770 to assist with immediate needs such as water, baby formula, and prescriptions. Speaking about the fires in Los Angeles and Southern California, Biden emphasized, "We’re not waiting until the fires are over to start helping the victims. People impacted by these fires are gonna receive a one-time payment of $770. One-time payment." The payments are part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Serious Needs Assistance Program.
