Jun 5, 2024, 04:35 PM
Former NBA player Chase Budinger has secured a spot on the U.S. Olympic beach volleyball team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Budinger, who played seven years in the NBA, retired from basketball in 2017 and began his professional beach volleyball career in 2018. Alongside his playing partner, Miles Evans, Budinger clinched the final U.S. Olympic beach volleyball spot. Budinger's athletic career is notable as he will become the first athlete to have played both an NBA regular season game and Olympic beach volleyball. Budinger, a 2006 McDonald's All-American Game Co-MVP, played for the Rockets, Suns, and Pacers. Before his basketball career, Budinger was also offered volleyball scholarships by UCLA and USC.
