Rockies Extend Manager Bud Black with One-Year Extension Through 2025
Oct 8, 2024, 06:06 PM
The Colorado Rockies have extended the contract of their manager, Bud Black, through the 2025 season with a one-year extension. Despite back-to-back 100-loss seasons, the Rockies have decided to retain Black, who is now one of the longest-tenured active MLB managers. Black is tied with Torey Lovullo as the fourth-longest tenured manager in the league, behind Kevin Cash, Dave Roberts, and Brian Snitker. Additionally, Black is one of only two active MLB managers who are former pitchers, alongside Brewers skipper Pat Murphy. The Rockies also announced staff changes.
