FBI Searches Home of LA Deputy Mayor Brian Williams Over Alleged City Hall Bomb Threat, No Arrests Made
Dec 18, 2024, 09:28 PM
The FBI conducted a search at the home of Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brian Williams on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a bomb threat he allegedly made against City Hall earlier this year. Williams, who serves as the deputy mayor for public safety, was placed on administrative leave following the raid. According to Zach Seidl, a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass, the Los Angeles Police Department initially investigated the threat and identified Williams as the likely source in their statement. Due to their working relationship with him, the case was referred to the FBI. Mayor Karen Bass's office takes the matter seriously, and no immediate danger was found during the initial investigation by the LAPD. The FBI has not confirmed or denied the investigation, and no arrests have been made.
