Representative Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) has been elected as the next Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Guthrie secured the position after defeating Representative Bob Latta during a steering committee meeting. He will replace retiring Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (CMR) in this role.
