A massive 2,492-carat diamond, the second-largest ever found, has been unearthed at the Karowe mine in Botswana by Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond Corp. The discovery is significant as it is the largest diamond found in over a century, following the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond discovered in South Africa in 1905. The diamond, which is estimated to be worth over $40 million, was found using advanced X-ray technology. Botswana's president showcased the diamond at a viewing ceremony.
