Hezbollah Launches 100 Rockets and Drone Assault on Israel, Herzliya Hit

On October 11, 2024, a significant escalation occurred as Hezbollah launched a massive barrage of rockets and drones targeting northern and central Israel. The Israeli army reported that approximately 100 rockets were fired from Lebanon, impacting areas including Haifa, Acre, and the Upper Galilee. This assault resulted in injuries and fires in the Upper Galilee. Concurrently, drone alerts were issued for central Israel, including Tel Aviv. A drone launched from Lebanon struck a residential building in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, causing a power outage but no casualties. The Israeli Air Force intercepted several drones, but at least one drone managed to hit its target. Additionally, two people were injured by an anti-tank missile near Yiron in the Upper Galilee. The attacks coincided with Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, heightening the tension and urgency of the situation. Earlier, an Israeli fighter jet intercepted a drone over Ashkelon in southern Israel.
