Companies Pledge $1 Million Each to Trump's Inauguration, Reversing Jan. 6 Stance
Dec 26, 2024, 09:00 AM
Numerous companies that had pledged to withhold financial support from those who disputed the 2020 election results are now contributing to Donald Trump's inauguration fund. This shift comes after the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, where many of these companies had initially paused their political donations. Among the donors are Toyota, Ford, Stanley Black & Decker, and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), each contributing $1 million to the fund. Other contributors include General Motors, Bank of America, AT&T, Goldman Sachs, Intuit, Amazon, Meta, and OpenAI. The total amount raised for Trump's inauguration is expected to exceed the $107 million collected for his first inauguration in 2017, reflecting a significant change in corporate stance towards the incoming administration.
