4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Alanya in Gulf of Antalya at 7 Kilometers Depth, Residents Evacuate

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Gulf of Antalya in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Alanya, at a depth of 7 kilometers, according to Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). The earthquake occurred at 16:51 local time. Some residents of Alanya were seen evacuating their homes due to the tremor. Seismologist Prof. Dr. Süleyman Pampal noted that such tremors are frequent in the region, but the risk of a destructive earthquake remains high.
