IDF Orders Gaza Evacuation Ahead of Renewed Operations, Expands Overcrowded Humanitarian Zone

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have issued evacuation orders for Palestinian civilians in specific areas of the Gaza Strip, including Nuseirat and Bureij in central Gaza, as well as large swaths of the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF's Arabic-language spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, announced the expansion of the designated humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi, located in southern Gaza's Rafah region. The expanded zone includes field hospitals, tent compounds, and supplies of food, water, and medicine. However, the area is already overcrowded as the vast majority of the Gazan population currently resides there. The evacuation orders come as the IDF prepares for potential significant renewed operations against Hamas in northern Gaza.
