Australia and India have announced significant humanitarian aid packages to assist Papua New Guinea (PNG) following a catastrophic landslide. Australia will provide $2.5 million in aid, while India has pledged $1 million. The landslide, which occurred in Enga Province, has resulted in over 2,000 people being buried alive and an estimated 670 deaths, with the death toll estimated in thousands. The Australian government's Disaster Assistance Response Team has already reached PNG to provide on-ground support.
