South Korea reported an incident within the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on Sunday, June 9, where warning shots were fired at a group of North Korean soldiers who briefly crossed the 38th Parallel into South Korea. According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), the North Korean soldiers quickly retreated back to their side of the border after the warning shots. The South Korean military has indicated that the intrusion seemed unintentional and there has been no unusual movement from the North Korean military since the incident.
