Modi 3.0 Cabinet Approves Assistance for 3 Crore Houses Under PMAY

The Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved assistance for the construction of an additional 3 crore rural and urban houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). This decision was made during the first Union Cabinet meeting of Modi 3.0. The initiative aims to meet the housing requirements arising from an increase in the number of eligible families. Since its inception in 2015-16, the PMAY has already completed 4.21 crore houses with basic amenities for eligible poor households.
